Six terrorists were killed in a gunfight with the CTD unit in Quetta.

According to A News on Sunday, at least six alleged terrorists from a defunct organisation were killed in a gunfight with a team from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta.

The CTD also confiscated firearms and ammo from the terrorists’ stronghold near the province capital’s Eastern Bypass.

According to a CTD spokesman, one of the terrorists was a member of an outlawed gang with a head money of Rs2 million.

During an operation a day earlier, the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department apprehended four accused terrorists from Kech. The operation was carried out after one of the forces’ sources provided a tip-off.

The suspects were the masterminds behind a bombing in Turbat last year. The explosion killed two youngsters.

Two militants were also killed in a gunfight with a raiding squad from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Bannu region on Friday. The CTD raiding party carried out an intelligence-based operation on Amirwanda Road within the Lakki Police Station limits after receiving a tip.

The terrorists opened fire on the raiding team’s personnel, who returned with a strong retaliation, killing the two terrorists.

Two Kalashnikovs, six magazines, a huge amount of ammunition, two identity cards, cash, a sack full of explosive material, and other equipment were also seized from the dead terrorists’ hideout by the CTD team.
