On Sunday, at least 8150 files were taken from the record room of the Assistant Commissioner (AC) office in Layyah.

Action has been taken against five officials, including Domicile Branch in-charge Muhammad Azam, two watchmen, a deputy messenger, and other workers who have been removed.

All of the stolen files are associated with the Domicile branch.

After the public workers were mentioned in the prosecution, the city police declined to record a case, stating that the subject should be transferred to the anti-corruption department.
