LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday condemned the detention of DG Parliamentary Affairs, alleging that the raids revealed the government’s “fascist behaviour.”
“The government’s concern is evidenced by the detention of an assembly officer and raids. “The Sharifs’ face is being revealed in front of the country,” Elahi remarked.
He said that the administration is showing new strategies after breaking the sanctity of Parliament, referring to the uproar in the Punjab Assembly during the chief ministerial election. He stated that the administration is acting in an unconstitutional manner.
