Arshad Sharif, the host of ARY News, has been granted protective bail till Monday by the Islamabad High Court.

On May 21, 2022, Chief Justice Islamabad heard the case against Arshad in the Islamabad High Court at 11:30 p.m. The CJ IHC had invited the Inspector General Police (IG) Islamabad and the Director General of Police (DIG) Islamabad to assist Arshad in his presentation during the hearing.

Tayyab Hussain, who had filed a complaint against Arshad, accused him of criticising state institutions.
