Dr Shireen Mazari, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was released after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the government to release her immediately and form a judicial panel to investigate her imprisonment.

Shireen Mazari, a former federal minister, was apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Establishment and the Federal Capital Police.
