Groundbreaking for Multan’s Poor and Homeless Housing by the First Lady

MULTAN, (APP): First Lady Begum Samina Arif Alvi broke ground Wednesday to begin work on phase-II of a significant social welfare project of Taaray Zameen Per (TZP) foundation to construct houses for the underprivileged and homeless.

In her remarks at the event, she expressed her joy at laying the foundation for the second phase of shelter houses (Dar-ul-Sukoon), which would provide 36 additional dwellings to the poor and needy, including widows and others who live under the flimsy roofs of husk huts.

She was grateful to TZP Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, Fadia Kashif, for the social welfare projects the trust was pursuing to help the oppressed sections of society.

Multan is recognised as the city of saints, according to Mrs. Samina Arif Alvi, who dedicated their whole lives to lighting society with Islamic principles. And I’m pleased that Multan’s workers have a similar attitude. She expressed her happiness at seeing Multan, one of the oldest towns still inhabited today, advance in every area. “Now that it is the location of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, world-famous cricketers come here to show off their skills.” As a social worker herself, she claimed to feel that every person was crucial to the growth of the nation and could contribute to Pakistan’s progress.

She said how happy she was to see another 36 family find refuge at Dar Ul Sukoon, which had already changed the lives of the 31 other underprivileged families who previously resided here and whose 200 children were receiving free education.

“I congratulate all the recipient families,” she added, praising TZP for setting up free education for the children of the homeless in addition to housing for them.

She said that creating 36 houses for the poor and jobless was a good start in bringing about social transformation.

In addition, she appealed to philanthropists, social welfare organisations, and individuals to invest their time and resources in efforts to brighten the future of children belonging to poor families, adding that government cannot achieve the goal without support from society. She urged the privileged and wealthy people to brainstorm ideas on how they can help the poor communities and their children in their respective areas. She said, “A little assistance from all of us may have a significant beneficial influence on the lives of these kids.

She prayed for “Taaray Zameen Per” trust’s social welfare programmes to be a success and for it to continue growing to serve more and more worthy people.

She once again commended the Trust, its CEO, and all other employees for starting such a wonderful effort and keeping it going. The event was attended by the founder of the TZP Trust, Kashif Riaz, as well as renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist Mian Fazal Mukhtar.
