BAHAWALPUR, (APP): Punjab Governor Engineer Muhammad Baligh-Ur-Rahman has lavished praise on Nawab of Bahawalpur Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi (late) for his contributions to Pakistan’s cause and the advancement of education.
The Punjab Governor, who is also the chairman of the Board of Governors of Sadique Public School Bahawalpur, was speaking at an event commemorating the 69th anniversary of Sadique Public School in Bahawalpur.
While recalling the contributions of the Nawab of Bahawalpur, he said that Nawab Sir Sadique Muhammad Khan Abbasi (late) was a vibrant and imaginative individual who played a vital role in promoting education by constructing great educational establishments in the then princely state of Bahawalpur.
“The establishment and operation of Sadique Pubilc School in Bahawalpur demonstrates that Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi valued education and played a significant role in its development,” he stated.
Remembering his schooling at Sadique Public School Bahawalpur, he said that it was his job to take the required steps to provide youngsters with current information and skills. The Governor also underlined the need of encouraging athletic activities in educational institutions.
Subsequently, he awarded gold medals, shields, and awards to around 150 pupils who had achieved positions in various tests and activities at the school.
Dr. Ahtasham Anwar, Commissioner Bahawalpur Division, Mian Muhammad Ahmad, Acting Principal Sadique Public School Bahawalpur, and other authorities were also present.
