Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, said on Saturday that a seven-member team had been established to undertake negotiations with the PDM-led administration.
It happens a day after he urged the political players to conduct “immediate talks” as the party was seeing a large number of its members leave.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi, senior vice president, Parvez Khattak, Asad Qaisar, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Aon Abbas Buppi, Murad Saeed, and Hammad Azhar are on the committee.
Speaking to a group of journalists earlier, Mr. Khan promised to drop some surprises in the days ahead, adding that a shift in time was about to occur. Young people will be given electoral tickets, and I am certain that the PTI will prevail in the polls, he said.
“Hold a referendum, and you will see the result for yourself,” he remarked.
He continued by saying that PTI officials like Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Parvez Khattak, and others would oversee party operations if he were to be detained. “I am not at odds with the army,” he continued.
He said that some guests who departed the gathering did so under duress, while others revealed their true identities.
Mr. Khan said he never ordered party members to deface [national structures], and he questioned how he could order them to do so now after forbidding it after surviving an assassination attempt [in Wazirabad]. He questioned, “Why will the PTI adopt the policy of siege if it is popular with the public?”
He said that President Arif Alvi will go on in accordance with the law. He said, “I have called a meeting of my legal team to discuss the release of jailed party employees.
Earlier, he said on Twitter that the fascist government was only considering using more coercive and harsh steps to destroy the PTI while the nation’s economy crashed in before of everyone’s eyes.
