BAHAWALPUR (Web Desk) Police in Khairpur Tamiwali tehsil say the primary suspect in the vandalism of a little girl’s cemetery was slain by his own accomplices during a police engagement.

According to a police spokeswoman, the suspect, Abdul Wahid alias Kala, a resident of Basti Sardaran, was hiding in the Hamidabad neighborhood with three accomplices out of fear of capture. Late at night, a police squad raided the bunker. When the accused saw the police party, they reportedly opened fire.

The statement added that once the shooting ceased, authorities discovered Abdul Wahid in severe condition, while his accomplices left the area.

During the firefight, a bullet fired by the suspects struck Head Constable Ali Raza; however, he was safe since he was wearing a bulletproof jacket.

Police stated a FIR (No. 9/26) was filed against the fleeing suspects, and operations are continuing to apprehend them.

Authorities are also looking into why the grave and remains were desecrated.

According to authorities, the 16-year-old girl was buried on Sunday evening, but her corpse was discovered missing from the tomb on Monday morning. The corpse was reportedly desecrated and then thrown in neighboring fields.

According to police, the girl’s family members and nearby locals are being questioned. Investigations are also underway to ascertain if the girl died from electrocution or was murdered.
