He said that the professional talents of physicians in Dera Ismail Khan were unquestionable, but the absence of facilities hampered their ability.

He said that the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit was founded by the physicians of Mufti Mahmood Hospital.

On behalf of the people of Dera Ismail Khan, the state minister thanked hidayat Ullah Khan Kundi for supplying this plant with equipment worth Rs 8 million.

Faisal Kundi said that the Federal and Provincial administrations will provide all available opportunities for unity.

In the latest federal budget, Rs one billion was provided for the health sector under the aegis of Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM).

He believes that given the resources now available to the burn unit, it will be viable to treat a substantial number of burn victims here. However, he said that the unit will need more equipment.

According to Dr. Naseem Saba Mehsud, Dean of Gomal Medical College, the Kundi family’s donation of equipment for the burn unit is laudable, but Dera Ismail Khan need a functional burn unit from the government.
