Following Shehbaz Sharif’s election as Prime Minister of Pakistan, the unified opposition has been heavily involved in determining important choices such as who would be included in the PM’s cabinet.

According to reports, the cabinet would include 12 ministers from the PML-N, 7 from the PPP, four from the JUI-F, two from the MQM, and two from the BNP Mengal, ANP, Jamhoori Watan Party, and Balochistan Awami Party.

During the first phase, the allies will be accommodated as much as feasible in the cabinet. Other ministries will be assigned to PPP and PML-N members in the second phase.

According to sources, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has opted not to assume any positions in the incoming administration.

Following the President’s impeachment, the presidential candidates will be former President Asif Ali Zardari or Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman.

PPP is also expected to be given the Foreign Ministry position. MQM may be given two ministries and the governorship of Sindh.
