Akhtar Malik, the Punjab Minister for Energy, has refused to work with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan.
According to people acquainted with the situation, three provincial legislators have declined to join the ranks of Aleem Khan. Akhtar Malik stated that he would not leave the party in the midst of a crisis.
Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister of Punjab, has also made contact with the minister, and a meeting between the two is arranged for today.
Meanwhile, former Punjab minister Aleem Khan has flown for London to meet with dissident PTI leader Jahangir Tareen despite the country’s fast changing political circumstances.
