The opposition has presented the National Assembly leadership with a draught no-confidence resolution against Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri.

The paper has been signed by more than 100 people, according to estimates. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker have been accused of partiality and managing the House in accordance with their party’s directions in the draught.

Rather than staying impartial, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker become parties to the motion. Asad Qaiser and Qasim Soori routinely attend prime ministerial meetings, which is against the National Assembly’s regulations.
