ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have freed all Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) activists arrested during yesterday’s operation at the Parliament Lodges.

On Thursday evening, a heavy police presence raided the MPs’ quarters to expel members of Ansarul Islam, a JUI-volunteer F’s organisation, who were present to give safety to opposition legislators.

A total of two dozen volunteers were apprehended during the operation. A number of lawmakers vowed to be detained in revenge for the police intervention.

Late Thursday night, the Aabpara police confirmed that all of the JUI-F personnel who had been arrested had been released. They claim that no politicians have been detained by the police.
