LAHORE – Following accusations of corruption, Tariq Malik, the chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), resigned from his position on Tuesday.

In a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the PM House, he submitted his resignation.

According to sources, the FIA also put his name on the no-fly list, preventing him from flying internationally. According to the sources, “the FIA and the NAB have also opened some cases against him.”

According to insiders, there have been disagreements between the administration and the Nadra over several of Mr. Malik’s proposals.
