In the Al-Qadir Trust case, Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was granted protective bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday, only hours after he threatened to spark widespread unrest if he were to be jailed once more.

The former prime minister, who was detained on Tuesday from the IHC premises, was given a 15-day protection bail by the two-person special division bench, which was made up of Justices Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Saman Rafat Imtiaz.

Following the Supreme Court’s declaration that Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case was “illegal,” IHC Judge Aamer Farooq established the special division bench to review the former prime minister’s bail plea.
