MULTAN – Pakistan trailed England by 174 runs in the second Test match that took place in Multan on Friday after they reached 107-2 in their first innings at the end of the first day.

Abrar Ahmed and Zahid Mahmood of Pakistan had sent the English team back to the pavilion at a pitiful 281.

Abrar, who was making his debut, got seven wickets, and Zahid contributed three. After reaching 245 for nine, England’s last nine players grabbed the initiative as Mark Wood struck eight fours to add 36 runs to his team’s total. When James Anderson attempted to sweep the ball, Zahid took his wicket. When the ball struck the leg stump, Zahid was able to get his third wicket.

Harry Brook added nine runs to the team’s 180 after Zak Crawley left at 19, Ducket at 63, Pope at 60, Joe Root at 8, and Pope at 60. After lunch, Team England quickly lost nine wickets.
After winning the toss, England decided to bat first. The away team is up 1-0 in the overall series.
