Following a statement by Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on unresolved tax issues in the courts, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah convened a high-level meeting.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javain Khan have all been invited to the high-level meeting on February 22 with Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah.
A letter asking the Chairman of the Competitive Commission and the Chairman of the OGRA to attend the meeting has also been sent. The letters were sent by the Registrar’s Office in Islamabad, and information on tax cases pending in the High Court was also asked.
On the other hand, Fawad Ch applauded the IHC’s decision to have a full court hearing on Twitter.
“The government, judiciary, and other institutions are working together for the nation’s advancement and prosperity,” he tweeted.
