Shehryar Khan Afridi, a politician with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was taken into custody by police in Islamabad late on Monday night.
The government has tightened the noose on the PTI leaders as a result of violent nationwide rallies against the imprisonment of the former prime minister Imran Khan. Shehryar Afridi was captured in Islamabad’s F/8 neighborhood, according to reports in Pakistan.
Shehryar Afridi was held in custody in accordance with Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO), sources claim. Police detained him and took him to an undisclosed place.
