Usman Dar, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and other party activists were freed when the party’s leadership altered the location of a public demonstration.
Usman Dar was detained during a fight between PTI workers and police at the site of PTI chairman Imran Khan’s public rally.
Police stormed the PTI public meeting site, stating that the district administration had refused to allow the party to hold a public gathering at the CTI Ground in Sialkot.
In response to PTI workers’ resistance, police used tear gas shelling and baton charges to disperse them.
However, the PTI then stated that the public protest will be moved to VIP field.
