ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan would write a letter to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser as Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, requesting that he take action against MNAs who disobey party guidelines during the no-trust movement.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the PTI’s senior leadership and legal experts are meeting to discuss the text of the letter to be submitted to the Speaker of the National Assembly.

“The letter would request action against MNAs under the statute prohibiting floor-crossing,” said individuals familiar with the consultation process, adding that “the letter will be given to the National Assembly speaker soon following a nod from Prime Minister Imran Khan.”
