ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Ali Afzal Sahi, a former provincial minister and PTI politician, was detained by Islamabad police on Tuesday as he left the court.

Ali Afzal Sahi was taken into custody while standing outside the courthouse. Sahi had appeared in court to get bail in the complaint filed at the Islamabad Golra Police Station.

The PTI leader’s temporary release was renewed by the anti-terrorism court, but the ICT Police detained Sahi in connection with other crimes that had been filed against him right after he left the courtroom.

Shabnum Jahangir, the head of the PTI’s women’s branch, was detained at the airport in Karachi while she was her route to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). She was stopped by the immigration officers at their counter as she was heading to Dubai on a business visa.

Following the violence on May 9, Ms. Jahangir’s name was added to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) stop list, which prevented her from leaving the country. She was also named in First Information Reports (FIR) about violence filed after the PTI leader was taken into custody in connection with a corruption case.

After charges were filed against numerous PTI leaders for targeting civilian and military targets on May 9 across many cities, the FIA added their names to a no-fly list.
