On Monday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), will meet Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
According to reports, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chairman would throw a dinner for the former president during which the latest events over Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence vote will be discussed.
Both leaders are likely to express their views on their interactions with government allies.
A day earlier, it was revealed that Mian Shehbaz Sharif, the President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), had sought Jahangir Tareen’s backing for a no-confidence vote during a secret meeting.
Tareen would continue to cooperate with PML-N notwithstanding the no-confidence motion.
According to insiders, the meeting between the two leaders lasted many hours, and Jahangir was also provided by the Opposition Leader of the National Assembly.
