Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Punjab Health Minister, has tested positive for coronavirus for the second time.

The minister has sequestered herself at her home, according to a spokeswoman.

Pakistan is dealing with the fifth wave of a coronavirus pandemic caused by the virus’s omicron form. Coronavirus has claimed 15 lives in Pakistan in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,386,348. On Wednesday, the total number of fatalities in the United States had risen to 29,137.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) reported that 5,196 people tested positive with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
