BAHAWALPUR, (Web Desk) – On February 18, the nation will mark the night of blessings with profound reverence (Saturday night).
On the 27th night of Rajab, Muslims commemorate Shab-e-Meraj (seventh month of Islamic calendar). Laylatul Meraj is another name for Shab-e-Miraj-un-Nabi. Shab-e-Meraj commemorates Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace be upon him) journey to meet Allah. Muslims mark this day by praying, gathering, reciting the Holy Quran, and supplicating. They fast from sunrise to sundown throughout the day.
On 27 Rajab, Hazrat Jibrael (AS) came to visit the last prophet (PBUH) and he proceeded to meet the Almighty on the Buraq, the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) was awarded the honour of Meraj. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) went to Aqsa Mosque and led all prophets’ prayers.
