Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan met with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday to brief him on the legal consequences of the PECA Amendment Ordinance.

The PECA Amendment Ordinance will not be accepted in its current form, according to Khalid Javed. He added that the government has no plans to limit freedom of expression.

He indicated that the PECA ordinance will not be adopted until Article 19 was amended to include legal protections.

The Attorney General further remarked that he will make a policy statement before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday about the PECA Amendment Ordinance.
