Pakistan is commemorating the third anniversary of an operation undertaken by the country’s air force against intruding Indian planes in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on February 27, 2019, which resulted in the downing of two Indian fighter jets.
Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s MiG-21 fighter was shot down in Azad Jammu Kashmir during an aerial combat, and the Indian pilot was detained.
PM Imran Khan stated on Twitter that he has always believed in peaceful dispute resolution via discussion and diplomacy.
However, the prime minister emphasised that these characteristics should not be interpreted as Pakistan’s weakness, citing how the nation prevented the Indian air force’s violation of Pakistani airspace on February 27, 2019.
PM Imran Khan stated that Pakistan’s military forces, which are backed by the population, will always respond to any sort of aggression launched against the country.
“I’ve always thought that conflict can be resolved via communication and diplomacy. That should never be misinterpreted as a sign of weakness. “We are resolute & unwavering in our commitment to the security of our country and our nation,” he added in a separate Tweet.
