BAHAWALNAGAR (Bahawalnager News): According to Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, provincial health secretary, a medical college in Bahawalnagar would be finished and fully operating by June 2024.
The health secretary said during a meeting that the medical college in Bahawalnagar will receive more amenities, including as doctor’s apartments, physicians, and student hostels. He said there were 539 beds at DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar. He said, “Work is also moving quickly on the 200-bed Mother and Child Hospital in Bahawalnagar. The responsible personnel were given instructions by the health secretary to complete cooperation with the P&D department with regard to the medical college in Bahawalnagar.
The conference was attended by Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Special Secretary Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education, Agha Nabil, Additional Secretary Development, Abdul Haq Bhatti, Chief Planning Officer, Umeer Chaudhry, Director of Buildings South, and Dr. Faiza, CEO of Bahawal Nagar. Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, Punjab’s Secretary of Health, went over the plan for the medical college initiative in Bahawalnagar in great detail during the meeting. Agha Nabil, Additional Secretary for Development, officers from the Building Department, and Abdul Haq Bhatti, Chief Planning Officer, briefed the health secretary.
