The army has no political role, according to Major General Babar Iftikhar, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During a news conference on Thursday, he remarked that it was preferable for all of us to avoid unnecessary speculation on the subject. He said that 80 terrorists had been killed in the past several weeks.

According to the DG ISPR, an Indian “supersonic missile” breached the country’s air space, threatening civil planes before landing 124 kilometres from international boundaries near Mian Chunnu, causing damage to civilian property but no deaths. Pakistan, he claimed, was outraged by the infringement and vowed not to repeat it in the future.
