If the no-trust motion fails, the opposition will point the finger at the third umpire: Rashid

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the Federal Minister of Interior, stated on Monday that the opposition’s no-confidence vote is certain to fail since it requires the backing of 172 members of the National Assembly.

Sheikh Rashid told a news conference in the federal capital that if the opposition’s no-confidence motion fails, the third umpire will be blamed. Those who are attempting to avoid incarceration will soon find themselves in the grip of the law.

The Interior Minister told the reporters that the government has tracked down six suspects in the Peshawar bomb probe and maintained that foreign forces aim to destabilise Pakistan.

He said that the police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had identified a large gang of terrorists who will be apprehended shortly.

The minister went on to say that while there is a risk of world war, Prime Minister Imran Khan has given Pakistan its own foreign policy.

Despite rising oil costs on the international market, he added, the government has cut the price of fuel and diesel by ten rupees per litre and the price of electricity by five rupees per unit.

Sheikh Rashid stated that no obstacles will be erected in the route of the PPP’s lengthy march, and that security will be given.
