According to a Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) official, the institution has not received any directives to resume social media.

Even while the PTA spokesperson acknowledged that mobile internet access had been restored countrywide, she said that no instructions had yet been issued to restart social media sites.

The usage of social media websites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube was previously prohibited by the government, which also placed statewide limits on mobile internet access on May 9.
