LAHORE — The investigation into the Khanewal incident has made significant progress, with the police confirming the arrest of 15 of the principal suspects in the case. Meanwhile, surveillance video was being used to help with additional identification, and raids were being carried out to apprehend more individuals.
Mohammad Yaqub, Kashif, Mohammad Riaz, Saqleen, Mohammad Shaan, Asif, Nadeem, Qaiser Naziz, Abdul Ghani, Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Amir, Ejaz, Mehboob-ur-Rehman, Mohammad Bilal, and Ali Sher are among the 15 main accused in the case who have been arrested following the investigation, according to a police spokesperson.
The apprehended defendants were observed hurling bricks and sticks at Aslam, a civilian. They have been charged with terrorism and severe offences under the laws. With the use of CCTV video, further individuals have been identified and arrested. A total of 85 people have been detained so far, with the major suspects identified.
According to the spokeswoman, police teams have been conducting raids in order to apprehend more offenders. The Chief Minister of Punjab and the Inspector General of Punjab have been in charge of the entire operation.
