MUMBAI (ONLINE) The Andheri court in Mumbai has summoned Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, her mother Sunanda Shetty, and her sister Shamita Shetty in a matter of non-repayment of a Rs 21 lakh debt.
According to sources, a businessman, who is said to be the owner of a car agency, filed a lawsuit against the three for defrauding him.
Shilpa’s late father, according to the complaint, borrowed Rs. 21 lakh and was scheduled to repay it with interest in January 2017.
Mr. Shetty took out the loan in 2015. The Shetty family, according to the complaint, has failed to return the loan on time. Surendra, Shilpa’s father, is said to have borrowed the money at an annual interest rate of 18%.
