The massive police operation against dangerous criminals and terrorists in the Katcha region is now in its 60th day, with authorities claiming new successes.

According to a Punjab Police official, 12 desperate bandits have been murdered in the last two months, more than eight have been injured, 26 have surrendered, and 51 have been detained.

He said that while fighting the criminals, police officer Muhammad Qasim was killed, and three other authorities were injured. The project cleared around 60,000 acres of territory designated a no-go zone. In the regions freed by the police, three police community schools and two dispensaries have been built, he noted.
