On Sunday, at least 8,150 files were taken from the Assistant Commissioner (AC) office in Layyah.
Five officials, including the in-charge of the Domicile Branch Muhammad Azam, two watchmen, and a deputy messenger, have been moved.
All of the stolen files are associated with the Domicile branch.
After the public workers were mentioned in the prosecution, the city police declined to lodge a case, claiming that the subject should be handled to the Punjab anti-corruption agency.
