On Tuesday, Pakistan’s Supreme Court declined to overturn a ruling declaring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda ineligible for public office for the rest of his life.

The appeal of PTI leader was heard by a three-member panel led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial.

During the hearing, Chief Justice stated that because the plaintiff presented a forged affidavit, the court could not stay the judgement.

The court also sent letters to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Attorney General, and the hearing was postponed indefinitely.
