Former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar’s request to take a virtual oath as a member of Pakistan’s upper chamber of Parliament has been ruled unlawful.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani deemed the request unlawful, and a letter was also sent to the PML-N leader in this respect.
Sadiq Sanjarani’s letter references Articles 65 and 255 of the Constitution.
According to the letter, your (former finance minister’s) desire to take a virtual oath was denied under constitutional provisions.
