KARACHI : Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori will preside over the 8th convocation of Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC) on December 31, according to Administrator of Karachi Dr. Syed Saifur Rehman.
As the college has been unable to have its convocation for the last two years owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, the eighth convocation will be a significant milestone in the institution’s academic history, he added.
The Administrator said that senior officials of the Sindh government, notable figures from the medical department, vice chancellors of several institutions, principals, and academics would also be in attendance.
At the convocation, 500 graduating MBBS and BDS students from the session of 2020-21 will receive degrees and medals for distinguished achievement.
Dr. Saif said that the KMC is the only institution in the nation that operates a comprehensive medical and dental college where, in addition to instruction, people also have access to treatment facilities that are continually being upgraded.
According to him, KMDC was founded in 1991, and originally 50 MBBS students and 10 BDS students were enrolled.
He said that admission is currently granted to 250 MBBS and 100 BDS candidates according to a merit-based and transparent approach. Dr. Syed Saifur Rehman stated, “Our is why this institution is among the greatest medical schools in Pakistan.”
He said that KMC is attempting to foster the growth of this institution and that all feasible measures would be implemented in this respect.
